The Health University of Applied Sciences Tyrol generates and conveys knowledge in the field of health professions at an academic level. The Health University of Applied Sciences manages to fulfil its task of providing the health and social institutions in the region of Tyrol with future employees and combines this goal with substantial and academic development in the professional field in a mutually useful way. High-quality applied research helps to promote and maintain public health.

More than 1.000 students are currently enrolled at the Health University of Applied Sciences Tyrol and are benefitting from its team of experienced, motivated, and competent teachers, numerous practical training possibilities and national and international partner institutions. During their substantiated higher education programme, our students develop the competence that prepares them for the demanding tasks and challenges of their future everyday professional life and the work within interdisciplinary teams of experts from various backgrounds.

Owners

The fhg - Zentrum für Gesundheitsberufe Tirol GmbH/Health University of Applied Sciences is partially owned by the Tirol Kliniken GmbH holding 74 % and the Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) owning 26 %.

Tirol Kliniken GmbH

With its 8,440 employees, the Tirol Kliniken GmbH is not only the majority owner of the Health University of Applied Sciences, but also one of the most important employers in the region of Tyrol. The company offers numerous training placements for all University of Applied Sciences Bachelor Degree Programmes within its three regional hospitals and the regional clinic Landes-Pflegeklinik Tirol. This also provides students with the possibility to conduct empirical studies for their Bachelor's and Master's Theses in the field, as the company is also an important cooperation partner regarding the research efforts of the Health University of Applied Sciences.

UMIT

The Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) is a well-established private university in Tyrol that adds valuable research competence to the Health University of Applied Science as it is also its partial owner. For the University of Applied Sciences Bachelor Degree Programme Health Care and Nursing, the Health University of Applied Sciences is glad to have UMIT on board as a partner in teaching and research at the six planned study locations.
